Things you can type into Google
It’s become a cliche that we now carry around the collected knowledge of civilization in our pockets. That doesn’t make it any less remarkable. And while we could be looking up the history of the Civil War or the mythology of ancient Greece, it’s more likely that we’re checking our Facebook status. So let’s aim a little lower and look at some of the ways that we might use technology to solve some of life’s simpler problems.
Here are 9 things that you can enter into Google on your computer or phone and get an immediate response:
Find my phone
Now you can locate your (Android) phone simply by typing “find my phone” into the main Google search page. If you find that it’s nearby you can also make it ring to help locate it.
What’s my IP address
Very helpful for troubleshooting internet connection problems, Google can display the public IP address (not the internal network address) being used by your computer.
Speed test
How fast is your internet connection? Google will test the download and upload speed of your current connection.
Calculator
As the internet continues to erode our mental abilities, having a full function scientific calculator at your fingertips can come in handy.

If five people split a restaurant bill and want to add a 20% tip, how much does each one owe? Google gives you a quick answer.
Do a barrell roll
There’s no describing this one. Just give it a try.
Set timer
Just a simple alarm that sounds after the timer counts down to zero.

Before you leave for the airport, make sure that your flight is on time.
