Newsletter #3 May 2.0 2017

Hello and welcome to the bonus edition of the Artistic Chaos newsletter!

I wanted to mention the Chautauqua Lake Erie Art Trail, update you on my move, and remind you that this Art Trail event I will be offering the lowest prices over on my work!

This is for those a bit squeamish about nude bodies.
Nudity and adult themes appear in my work!

As you will see in my walk through video this is only a part of the work I have.
In November of 2013 I wrote a paper on art therapy called “Creative Arts for Healing.”  One of the quotes about art therapy that stuck with me is the mission statement of the The American Art Therapy Association, Inc.:  “dedicated to the belief that making art is healing and life enhancing.” (“American Art,” 2008)

The concept for the Dangerous series is based on my past, present, and future. The attitude that women are made for using and abusing would be the basis for almost every relationship I have had. After letting guys treat me horribly, I finally starting to stand up for myself.

The series together I call “Dangerous” and have split it into two halves. The first half is called “Surrender/Corrupt” and depicts my past. The second half “Dominator” and the work reflects the present, taking control of the situation and the things that happen to me. More importantly, it empowers me and begins to provide a perspective on what will happen in my future. I've learned that although a painting of a bowl of fruit or a puppy might be pretty, it does not saying anything. It does not move your soul unless the puppy is late personal pet. This series is meant to make you uncomfortable, to think about subjects you may not care to and also to create a dialog about issues others chose to ignore.
Walk-through of my set up at the Gate House for this weekend's Art Trail event!
This is a short video of Ivy taking you on a quick tour of the downstairs of the Gate House and my set up for the Chautauqua Lake Erie Art Trail 2017.
Artistic Chaos Studio is located inside of Forest Hill Cemetery in Fredonia, NY.
Trying to figure out where it all goes. 85+ paintings and drawings!
Not to mention prints, mini posters and greeting cards.
Hope you will visit me at the Forest Hill Cemetery Gate House for the 2017 Art Trail! This will be my last year on the Art Trail and my last event as The North Shore Arts Alliance Artist in Residence. After Memorial Day Weekend I will be packing up my studio to move on.

What this means for you is that I am not looking forward to moving my artwork! I'm offering a Starving Artist Sale. Hoping to clear out old "stock" so I can start fresh wherever my new studio happens to be.

I want to take the time to mention my Patreon Page for anyone who might not be able to buy a piece outright it offers the option to spend a small monthly fee to help me create my work.
While a member of the North Shore Arts Alliance I contributed to many a graphic design project including this years Art Trail Brochure Design.

In the past it has included ad designs, individual artist banners and a large billboard that was posted n the the side of the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts in Jamestown, NY
As I prepare to leave my studio and home for the last year I find myself being rather sentimental about things. Figured I would share what my studio has looked like over the past year.
