First up, we have a new franchise to announce: we’re coming to the “Hub of Nova Scotia,” Truro! As we posted in social earlier this week (follow us @CheeseCurds / @HabanerosMTB on Twitter and @cheesecurdsburgers / @habanerosmtb on Instagram), we signed a franchise agreement with the Millbrook First Nation Band to bring a combination Cheese Curds/Habaneros restaurant to the busy Truro Power Centre, at Exit 13A off Highway 102.

The 3,500 square foot standalone building is yet to be constructed; we will be breaking ground on the site just behind the Tim’s/Ultramar at that location within the next week or two. The building design will be consistent with our Oromocto franchise location (see artist’s rendering below), which is under construction now.
If all goes smoothly with construction, we expect Truro will be open this Fall.
Oromocto opening just around the corner
Speaking of Oromocto, construction is going well and our franchise team is in Dartmouth right now for pre-opening training – prepping in the early morning hours, grilling their hearts out, and feeding the large lunchtime crowds.

We’re on track to open the doors mid-June, just in time for Pioneer Days and the busy summer season. Our job posting for staff went live this week and the buzz in the town is crazy!
The building is looking awesome. We can’t wait to get in there!
