Dear colleague

I am delighted to let you know that AITSL in partnership with Evidence for Learning have developed a suite of resources to help educators implement a whole-school approach to effective feedback.

Our new Feedback resources are free to access and available from the AITSL website now.

The Feedback resources are one of several tools AITSL has developed to directly support implementation of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers, specifically Standard 3 – Plan for and implement effective teaching and learning and Standard 5 – Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning.

How you can help

I would appreciate your support with promoting the resources to school leaders within your network. We have prepared a blurb and flyer for this purpose. You might wish to update your contacts through activities such as:

  • an email promotion or website update about the new release using the prepared blurb at the end of this email or sharing the flyer
  • a LinkedIn update
  • an article in your next newsletter or publication.

Should you have any queries about these materials, please contact us at qualityteaching@aitsl.edu.au or 03 9944 1200.

As always, thank you for your ongoing support of AITSL.

Regards

Daniel Pinchas
Acting General Manager – Teaching and School Leadership

Draft blurb:
New feedback resources available now

Effective feedback practice is shown to increase student progress by as much as an extra eight months over a year.

AITSL in partnership with Evidence for Learning have developed new materials to support teachers and school leaders to enhance feedback practices with students in their context.

The resources draw upon global evidence and research-based approaches, including from AITSL’s own Board Chair and world-renowned education researcher, Professor John Hattie.

The suite of materials is free to access from the AITSL website and includes the following:

  • A Spotlight research summaryReframing feedback to improve teaching and learning – to describe the underpinning research on effective feedback.
  • Written and video case studies that profile effective implementation of feedback within Australian schools.
  • Implementation resources, such as a readiness check, planning overview and an introductory presentation, to help schools introduce an effective feedback strategy.
