How did the idea develop?
The evaluation of LxAddictions15 highlighted a desire by participants to go beyond traditional conference formats and complement the programme with an integrated training event to explore in-depth selected ‘hot’ addiction topics and build capacity among different stakeholders, using dynamic, interactive learning formats.

Who is the target audience?
TWIST will bring together 120 early stage addiction professionals – from academic, clinical and civil sector organisations – with experts from research and non-research stakeholder groups. The project is working to ensure balance and diversity in terms of geography, ability, gender and career stage. TWIST bursaries will cover the flight, hotel, daily lunches and conference fees for training programme participants.

How will this work?
The topics, contents and delivery formats of the TWIST training programme will be conceptualised and designed through a participatory process consisting of an online interactive survey and forum discussions with stakeholders on the training programme and a workshop in Barcelona, aimed at defining meaningful training pathways within the programme of LxAddictions17.

How can you take part?
Participants will be required to complete an application form and to provide input to the design of the training strand via the online survey, in order to apply for a training bursary. The application process is now open.
