The Sugar Pine Foundation is teaming up with Jack Johnson on his 2017 Summer Tour and All At Once, a social action network connecting nonprofits with people who want to become active in their local and world community. We are raffling off two tickets, for one lucky winner, to Jack Johnson's July 29th concert at Harvey's Outdoor Arena in Lake Tahoe. To enter, simply make a donation to The Sugar Pine Foundation, include your contact email and the message "Win Jack Johnson Tickets " in the "add special instructions" field. As a bonus, Jack Johnson's All at Once partnership will match the first $2,500 in donations to the Sugar Pine Foundation from now until September 1, 2017. One winner, for two tickets, will be drawn from our donors on July 22, 2017. We will contact our winner with instructions to collect your two tickets at the venues will call the day of the performance.  Good Luck!
We are having a two for one sale on all sugar pine seedlings while supplies last. Order now and write "2 for 1" in the memo field. Happy Planting!
Tressa, Maria, Rachel and our new intern Kyle, taught 2nd graders how to read tree ring data at Outdoor Explore Field trips to Nevada Beach.
Next week, we will be teaching 4th graders how to measure the height and volume of trees. Check the dates on our Calendar. Let us know if you would like to help out!

We made the front page of the Tahoe Daily Tribune! Thanks to all who planted 800 seedlings with us from the community, LTBMU, Hard Rock Cafe, Tahoe Turning Point and to Botany students from LTCC! Thanks Karl and Claire for great photos and write-up!

‘Connecting People to Nature’, is the theme for World Environment Day 2017. What better way to celebrate than to get outside and enjoy the beauty of nature that surrounds you. "From your backyard to your favorite national park, nature is closer than you think. It's time to get out and enjoy it".

Here are a few suggestions to celebrate World Environment Day:

  • Visit your neighborhood park
  • Visit a national park
  • Walk barefoot in the grass or sand
  • Jump in the Lake
  • Plant a tree
  • Start a garden
  • Collect trash along a street, beach or a paring lot.

Thank You for your Contributions! - All at Once Foundation, Donna Niemoller, Kim Jardine, Gavin Back, Ryan Roberst, Harry Knapp, Hilary Huff, Kerstin Commagere, Regina Quincy and Julie Jacobs Lowe.
