It’s hard to believe that in a few short days, I will be heading back to Lebanon for 5 weeks (May 26- June 30)! I am so excited to see what the Lord will do in and through our team as we depend on Him. I invite you to play a vital role in the work the Lord is doing in Lebanon through praying for Lebanon and my team the next 5 weeks. Prayer is a major way we accomplish God’s work in the world and is a powerful tool. I believe that God moves in mighty ways when His people pray. We have can be confident that if we ask anything according to God’s will, he hears us (1 John 5:14-15). Below are some specific ways you can pray for our summer mission:
- Our team: Nathan, Mattia, Jared, Zoe, Tim, Kate, Sean, Sarah, Meredith
- Our staff: me, Ryan, Kevin, Ashley, Samm
- Unity for our team that we would keep short accounts with one another and that we would love each other well, counting others more significant than ourselves. (Phil 2:1-4)
- Boldness as we walk in the power of the Holy Spirit to share the gospel without hindrance as God’s ambassadors entrusted with the message of reconciliation (Acts 28:31, 2 Cor 5:17-21)
- Protection as we travel to and from Lebanon and as we go about our daily activities. (2 Thess 3:3)
- For the Lord to lead us to spiritually open students who are thirsty to know Jesus (John 4:10-15)
- Wisdom for me, Ryan and Kevin as we lead the team. (James 1:5-6, 3:17)
- Against spiritual warfare (2 Chron 20:15, Ephesians 6:10-20)
- Against fear (Joshua 1:9, Isa 41:10, 2 Tim 1:7)
- My personal walk with the Lord that I would walk in the power of the Holy Spirit moment by moment as I lead the team.
"Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Philippians 2:9-11

Dear friend,
Last summer I had the incredible opportunity to spend 5 weeks in Lebanon on a Cru Summer Mission sharing the gospel with Lebanese university students. It was a life changing summer to say the least and I’m excited to tell you, I’m going back!
This summer will most likely be the last of sending teams to Lebanon as the ministry there is growing rapidly and no longer needs a summer mission to help launch movements. This is a huge answer to prayer! This means that Lebanese students are sharing their faith and seeing students trust Christ who then share the gospel with others. Not only that, but Cru in Lebanon is sending teams of students to other parts of the Middle East (to places our U.S. Passports are not welcomed!) to share the gospel. The prophet Isaiah writes, “Is it not yet a very little while until Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be regarded as a forest?” (Is. 29:17). I believe that Lebanon is becoming a fruitful forest of passionate followers of Jesus Christ.
Lebanon is home to two of the top five universities in the Arab world. There is much religious diversity that exists across the country and we see that first hand on the university campus. Two girls sit next to each other in class – one with no skin showing outside of her face and hands, the other in a mini skirt. Two guys hang out in the cafeteria – one who will never touch alcohol in his life for religious reasons, the other still working off his hangover from the night before. A student sitting on the stairs is a Muslim at home, but an atheist on campus. Religious ideologies are debated every day on campus – sometimes publicly, sometimes silently. And our commitment is to champion the gospel of Jesus Christ in the middle of all of that.
I’ll be working with 4 other Cru staff in leading a team of 9 American students for 5 weeks, May 26th-June 30th. Our team will spend our days on college campuses starting conversations, building friendships, and sharing the gospel. We will also be taking a few cultural classes at one of the universities. Our prayer is that our team would engage in numerous significant spiritual conversations, gain a deeper love for the people there, and effectively serve the long-term team in their strategic goals in reaching every university with the gospel.
I’d love for you to be a part of that! Between plane flights, lodging, and classes, I need to raise $4,200 by May 15th for this Summer Mission. I’m confident that through the generosity of partners like you, God will provide exactly what I need to serve in Lebanon.
