2017 Lightforce SA Rally Rally of the Heartland from 2 to 4th June
Burra / Hallet Area
The inaugural event is aimed at Classic Car competitors, Plus it is Round 2 of the South Australian Rally Championship (SARC).
Stages through the wind farms will make this a unique feature for the Rally scene in Australia and to add to the challenge there will be a very long near 80km night stage.
Once again the community of Robertstown is getting ready for the 2017 Lew Job 2 Day Trial, this year on the 10th & 11th June. It is a major event for the region and is Round 3 of the South Australian Reliability Trials Championship (SART).
The event is normally based around the Robertstown Oval as Main Control and it is an impressive sight to see so many bikes waiting to go out at the start. Hopefully more news in the next edition.
PS. We wish all riders in Round 2 of the SART Championship - the Mike Conners Trial run by the Keyneton Motorcycle Club, happening this weekend in the Sedan area success and a great trial.

Walking Lavender Trail Bought Back Memories
What a surprise it was to find ex Tothill residents Craig & Beverly Hoskyns were among the Manoora to Eudunda walkers on the Lavender Federation Walking Trail. That story was published in the previous Southern Goyder News from ECBAT #43.
Craig & Beverly were kind enough to stop and talk a bit about 'old times'. Craig was a teacher at the Eudunda Area School and drove the Tothill bus from 1970 to 1973. They have very fond memories of the district, and loved their time living in the old Tothill School as their young family grew up there. Joanne & Sharon and Natalie who was born while they were still at Tothill.
SALA - 4th to 6th August Fabulous New Poster
The Eudunda SALA Committee have just released a fabulous new poster to promote this year's event.
They have adopted the theme 'Yesterday" and they ask people to have a go at entering. Lots of different mediums are suggested, so there should be something to suit everyone. Why not have a go and have some fun. This year's poster was supplied by Laura Gully of local graphics design company Graphix SA. You can find out more about the event and how to enter by contacting Margaret Doecke 0458 900 655.
Great Newsletter For Local Tourism Operators
The Regional Council of Goyder is taking 'Tourism' seriously and had been publising an email newsletter aimed to inform those involved in tourism.
Well done to the Council for taking the initiative and to the Editor for great content.
If you would like to share any information or to subscribe, please email council@goyder.sa.gov.au.
Once again this newsletter reinforces that there is lots of things happening in the region, we just need to get the word out there, not only to the pubic, and tourists, but to our tourism operators, so they can take advantage of what is going on.
Eudunda Sporting Clubs Appeal for Volunteers
The Eudunda Sporting Club is hosting this year’s Swann Insurance 24 Hour Reliability Trial on the 8th -9th of July at Eudunda.
This community event is a major Fundraiser for our Club but we require help to ensure that is runs smoothly. We are looking for community members who are willing to assist us with catering for the trial.
These news items have been collected ('mashup') from the Eudunda Web Portal, the Southern Goyder Community Calendar, various Websites, Facebook pages and Twitter feeds and some email sources from various organisations, kind enough to send information. Oh! and sometimes good old hard copy from Newspapers give inspiration too for reports too. Thank you to all sources.
