The Durban University of Technology officially launched its new mobile App during its first leg of the #DUTApp roadshows that commenced today (Thursday, 18 May 2017).
The App roadshows will be held at all DUT campuses. The first part of the promotion of the #DUTApp will take place on Thursday and Friday (18 and 19 May 2017) on the Ritson and Steve Biko Campus in Durban.
In its second day of the week, DUT Open week has pupils so impressed that DUT is now officially their first preference.

When I arrived this morning my interest was only in Public Relations or Journalism. However, now that I have toured around the different tables with the various departments, I am slowly streaming away from my initial choices.
DUT is currently hosting pupils from various high schools for its Open week.
The principle of the open week is to provide school learners with valuable information about the different faculties, departments and programmes at the University. The Open Week is being held at the Fred Crookes Sports Centre, Steve Biko Campus.
Zandile Mdlalose a pupil from Riverdene Secondary in Newlands West, said she was impressed and happy for the opportunity the University has offered to them.
THE Moses Kotane Institute (MKI) awarded bursaries to 65 students from the Durban University of Technology (DUT) at an event hosted by the University last week.
Speaking at the ceremony chairperson of the board of MKI, Dr Sakhile Ngcobo said the DUT bursary recipients were part of the 149 students that were provided with an opportunity to pursue their dreams in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) related fields.
As of 2017, just over 60% of DUT’s taught modules have an active online classroom on the University’s learning Management system, the ThinkLearnZone. This is up from 53% in 2015.
Over the past four years, DUT students from all the faculties and on every campus have benefitted from access to the ThinkLearnZone. DUT is actively looking at ways to improve the online experience for students and lecturers.
Challenging issues related to student suicide within DUT and its surrounding community, the Student Christian Association (SCA) together with the department of Student Services and Development at the University held a Speak Out and Suicide awareness march.
The march was recently held between campuses, spreading suicide consciousness amongst students. Attended by the renowned guest speaker and motivational speaker, Nkululeko Khanyi, the event offered students a platform to convey issues that they felt led to suicide.
