Further Information

This marks the third year of this effort.   A group of volunteer-passionate people from across Northern Kentucky came together in the Fall of 2015 to consider how to systemically influence volunteerism.  The team’s goal was to enhance the good work already done by individual local organizations.  The outcome was the development of a volunteer engagement vision and strategies.

The work has evolved from planning to action; teams are guiding initiatives called Vision, Connect and Solutions.  In 2016 a Facebook page was started, a Volunteer Vision process developed, the 2nd volunteer fair was held and a best practices tool for volunteer leaders was developed.

In 2017 Volunteer NKY will host three volunteer fairs at different locations, bring together volunteer leaders to share best practices, start a Speakers Bureau to improve awareness and develop a process to better link skilled volunteers to the need.  We want to engage new and experienced volunteers AND the organizations that need them.

Volunteer NKY is sponsored by the Life Solutions Network.  This is a volunteer-driven network for volunteers and social service professionals who choose to serve our community by building the capability of people in need.  The network seeks to support others to “serve to their potential”.  Many local organizations are contributing to the Volunteer NKY planning including Brighton Center, Welcome House, Mentoring Plus, Women’s Crisis Center and St. Elizabeth Healthcare.
