Help to Restore Funding to Colfax!

The four Colfax Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) that make up the Colfax Collaborative, including the West Colfax Business Improvement District, have requested $20 million in bond funding for improvements along 8 miles of Colfax Avenue, from Monaco to Sheridan. The project is now on the short list for consideration by the Mayor and City Council. BUT - funding has been cut by more than two-thirds to just $6 million. Unless we act now, we will miss a generational opportunity to make Colfax the walkable main street we all want and need.

Click here to email the Mayor and City Council and tell them you want the Colfax Corridor Improvements project restored to the full $20 million.

Why restore funding to Colfax Avenue? We want a Economically Vibrant Main Street, a Safe Pedestrian Environment, and to make Colfax for the People. Get more detailed information on why to save the Colfax corridor from the Colfax Collaborative here.

WeCAN has been notified by the City and County of Denver of a review for a Utility Plan and Encroachment Permit for proposed cellular antenna poles and associated wiring/equipment within the public right of way. Verizon is proposing to install cellular antenna "city poles" along public right of way in Sun Valley and West Colfax. These additional poles will be used to improve Verizon's cellular service. Five of these poles would be located within the West Colfax neighborhood at the following locations:

3207 West Colfax Avenue; 30’ 1”
1496 North Knox Court; 30’ 1”
1509 North Meade; 30’ 1”
1490 North Stuart Street; 30’ 1”
4613 West Colfax Avenue; 30’ 1”

You can review the applications and designs and provide your feedback at the Denver Public Works E-Review Web Page.  Once on the review page, select the project "2017-ENCROACHMENT-0000042".  The review is open for comments until 7/14/2017.
