Little InventorsIn April we had a chance to work on with a program called Little Inventors. Children from across the country were tasked to come up with an invention, sketch it out, and explain how it works. A few of these inventions were selected and then makerspace-type groups were paired up in order to bring the invention into reality as a physical project. A local boy, named Mitchell, invented an umbrella that will filter rain water for you to drink.

Here is a photo of us meeting up with Mitchell and talking about the project before we got to work.

After some brainstorming, 3d printing, sewing and a variety of other tasks the finished invention was ready to send off to Ottawa to be displayed later at a Little Inventors event.

Little Free Library with Word on the StreetBack in late Fall we were involved with building a Little Free Library for Word on the Street. The project just recently finished now that all the signage is in place and we're able to share photos of the fishing shack themed library we built. Check out the press release for more info about the project. Go visit the boardwalk behind the Maritime Museum and grab a book, or leave some behind for others.
