Impressive growth in visitor arrivals from Lao PDR to Cambodia during March 2017
The popularity of Cambodia has been soaring among visitors from Lao PDR. In March 2017, arrivals from that market posted an increase of 125 percent as compared to the same period last year. China and Malaysia also registered strong growth of 44.8 percent and 10.5 percent respectively. However, arrivals from other source markets such as Vietnam (-17%), Korea (ROK) (-5.7%), USA (-3.6%), UK (-3.3%), Japan (-2.7 %) and Thailand (-2%) were in decline. As a result, the overall year-on-year growth for Cambodia was only 13 percent - despite the impressive growth in numbers of visitors from neighbouring Lao PDR.

Goh Choon Phong new IATA Chairman
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced that Goh Choon Phong, CEO of Singapore Airlines, has assumed his duties as Chairman of the IATA Board of Governors (BoG) for a one-year term, effective from the conclusion of the 73rd IATA Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Cancun, Mexico.
