87 lunches were served on our first day of Feed Our Kids this Monday! It continues this week and June 19-23. You can still participate!
Summer Choir will sing for four Sundays beginning this Sunday, June 11. Rehearsal will be at 9:45 on Sunday morning, and then we’ll sing the anthem rehearsed at worship that morning. This is a great opportunity to sing with a one-morning commitment. Contact Eddie if interested—or just show up that morning!
Father's Day Breakfast. On Sunday, June 18, at 9 a.m. we will honor all dads with our annual Father's Day Breakfast. Everyone is invited to bring a breakfast casserole, fruit or pastries, and join us as we celebrate these important men in our lives! Please use the sign up sheet on the events table to let us know how many to plan for. If you have any questions contact Dee Rose or Carol Court.
Congregational meeting.  A semi-annual meeting of the congregation will be held on Sunday, June 25, immediately after worship. Among the items on the agenda are election of new council members, approval of the FY 2018 budget, and voting on updates to our congregational constitution. Please plan to attend this important meeting.
Evening of "Wine, Cheese and Hymns". On Wednesday, June 28, our music program is hosting an evening entitled “Wine, Cheese and Hymns.” It begins at 6:30 with a dinner of dishes which contain cheese. At 7:30 we will learn four hymns from our hymnal that we do not regularly sing and then conclude with Holy Communion. The hymns we learn will be used during our worship services during the months of July and August.
Stewardship campaign. You can still participate in our spring Stewardship campaign. Our goal is for all of our active members to make a pledge and fill out a Time and Talent form signing up for "just one thing". The pledge box will be set up on the Welcome Table for the next several weeks—you can still turn in your form and partnership card at any time! Time and Talent forms can be filled out online, too.
Vacation Bible School at Abiding Grace is coming soon! Join us the week of July 24-28 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to grow in faith and learn about God. The VBS program is run by Briarwood staff and is geared for youth ages 5-10. Older youth are encouraged to be junior counselors, and adults can volunteer as well. To register or for more information please email Taylor.
Parking during construction. The majority of our parking spaces have been removed. The few remaining spaces directly in front of the sanctuary are reserved for handicapped parking. On Sundays a shuttle will take people requiring assistance from the parking lot across the street to the sanctuary. It begins running at 9:00 a.m. and will be available after the service.
Keep in prayer. Please keep the following people in your prayers: Samantha, Ron, Sandy, Debbie, Alan, Jerry, LaRue, Gary, Pam, Betty Ann, Lorraine, Berniece, Buddy, Landon, Darla, Curtis, Cyndi, Esther, Brenda and Kelly, Joan, Virginia, Gabe, Sean, Gae, Peters family, Adam, Bria, Melva, and Claudia.
