An Experience That Leaves No Doubt

What does it mean to experience Pentecostal power?

This Sunday we celebrate Pentecost Sunday, which is unquestionably the birth of the New Testament Church. The book of Acts serves as a bridge or tie for the writings of the New Testament. The setting unfolds with the last days of Jesus with His disciples, therefore, tying together Jesus Christ's work on earth and His continued work through His apostles and the establishment of the Church.

Acts 1:8 is the essence of the Gospel.

Jesus Christ commissioned His disciples to finish His work. What was Christ's work? Christ's work was that of John 3:16-17--giving His life so that the news of God's love might deliver and set the captive free, taking salvation to the lost. Therefore, Christ commanded the disciples to witness: first in their own land, then to those in the areas surrounding, until all had heard the Good News.Jesus also prepared them for the task. He knew they could not complete His Work without His power. He then instructed the disciples to be witnesses, but only after the Holy Spirit had come upon them.

"In Acts 2, the 120 believers in the Upper Room tarried at the command of Jesus (Acts 1) to wait for the promise of the Father…to be endued with power." Chresten writes this week about this experience that leaves no doubt. Up to this point, God had only granted limited access to His presence and power. But because of Jesus's sacrifice, death, and resurrection, access to God's power was now fully accessible to all who believed.

"When the believers left the Upper Room that day, there was no doubt they had been touched, and changed, by the power of God.  We must have this experience!  This experience gives us the defining difference that the world must see."  Read more>>

This weekend we are excited to be a part of a Pentecost Sunday Gathering in Claremore, Oklahoma with Pastors Bob and Rebekah Warman and Clear View Church. Bridgette and I are believing God to show up and show out with supernatural power like never before! What are you believing God to do in your heart, community, and local church?

"If you read through this entire collection of epistles to the rowdy Corinthians, you’ll never find a time when Paul scolds them and tells them to eliminate the gifts...Have the gifts of the Spirit, both in public use and through other outlets, been misused in your church or ministry to the point that you longer allow them to be used? Has your service or experience time slot eliminated the open door policy for the Holy Spirit and His work?" Read more from The VIP Guest.

For the Love...of Comfort

"I don’t know about you but I have found that I enjoy being comfortable. I enjoy the close of the day as I turn out the lights throughout the house, head to our bedroom with a cup of hot tea in my hand, crawl up into bed, and take a deep breath as I reach for the remote or a good book on my night stand. Life in and of itself can be like the length of a day. Have you ever taken time to envision the final moments of your “life’s day”? I have." Is comfort bad? How do we rest and yet work? Read more in For the Love...of Comfort.
