Incorporating energy and climate resilience into city comp plans

See model RFP language
Model Request for Proposal language has been developed by Minnesota’s Local Government Project for Energy Planning (LoGoPEP). Cities often seek outside consulting services to help update their comprehensive plan. Because energy and resilience are relatively new subjects for cities, those wishing to include these topics in their comp plan can solicit the most qualified consultants by using clear RFP language.

Free residential toilet leak detection kits

Learn more and order kits
While supplies last, the MN Pollution Control Agency is distributing free residential toilet leak detection kits to GreenStep cities for distribution at community events and venues. Why is this important? U.S. homes waste 90 gallons or more of water per day on average due to leaks, according to the U.S. EPA. Toilets are especially leak-prone. Each kit includes a packet of nontoxic toilet-leak detection tablets and an educational/informational card. Most toilet leaks are easy to fix, so cities can use the kits to encourage residential water conservation actions.
