Since we started selling Conway Stewart pens nearly 3 years ago, we have been amazed by the seemingly insatiable demand for Churchills from every quarter of the globe. This iconic pen easily outsells all the other models in Conway Stewart's extensive range. So what makes it so special? Why do collectors and pen enthusiasts from all around the world opt for a Churchill over and over again?
Perhaps it's the association with Sir Winston Churchill, 'The British Bulldog', renowned for his tenacity and perseverance, who used Conway Stewart pens throughout his life, creating a special bond between the brand and the man.
Or maybe it's the size... After all, this is a pen that has much in common with Churchill. It is large... a heavyweight pen that demands attention.Yet it is perfectly balanced and sits easily and comfortably in the hand, whether posted or not, for many hours of easy writing.

First introduced in the 1990s, Conway Stewart's iconic Churchill pen pays tribute to a man who had a profound influence over the times in which he lived and was responsible for shaping the world we live in today. Journalist, war correspondent, politician, historian, artist, statesman and Nobel prize-winning writer, more than 50 years after his death Sir Winston Churchill is still regarded by many as 'The Greatest Briton'.

The Churchill core range
The images above show the four colours that make up the Churchill core range: Classic Black, Bracket Green, Bracket Brown and Honey Noire. Incidentally, the reference to 'bracket' here simply means the main acrylic colour is bracketed between a black acrylic tassie and a black acrylic back end.
And the 'specials' - some in short supply...

All the other colours currently available in the Churchill range - see above - are available in limited numbers. For example, there are only 14 Quartz Green, 3 Poinsettia, 4 Silver Storm and 6 Peppered White.
Poppy
Issued in a limited edition of 100 to commemorate the centenary of the Battle of the Somme in 1916, the subtle yet poignant addition of the enamel poppy emblem to the top of the cap has created quite a stir with collectors worldwide.
Quartz Green
Although we released this handsome colour a few months ago, we still have a few remaining so early reservation is recommended if you would like to add this to your collection.
Poinsettia
The delicious mix of reds and a touch of green gives the Poinsettia tremedous appeal. It's perfectly complemented by the rich gold fittings for a true touch of luxury.
Peppered White
The marbled mix of white, silver and charcoal combined with the sterling silver fittings and the 'top and tail' of rich, black acrylic, create a pen that simply oozes class.
Black Chased
This eye-catching addition to the Conway Stewart range has taken the standard Classic Black version to a new level by adding an engraved or 'chased' barleycorn pattern to both cap and barrel and adding sterling silver fittings to make a superb pen. We have added a 2-tone rhodium-plated gold Flag nib to complement the silver fittings.
Silver Storm
The image shown here can only give you an impression of the subtlety of colour, the light and dark silver shades, the luminescence and the almost mystical qualities of this extraordinary 'Silver Storm' acrylic material.
Burgundy
The Burgundy Churchill has become a great favourite with pen enthusiasts around the world. (It's my daily pen of choice, too!) It always gets admiring looks and has a powerful 'desk presence'.

'Smooth-as-butter' 18ct gold Flag nibs
All pens in the Churchill range now come fitted with one of our Flag 18ct gold nibs - available in Fine, Medium or Broad sizes to suit your hand-writing style. They have received worldwide praise for their flexibility and 'smooth-as-butter' writing.
If you prefer to use a special nib - an italic, stub or oblique, for example - you can have our Flag gold nib ground to your exact specification by one of the UK's leading nib-masters. Just complete your requirements in the shopping cart.
Rollerball, ballpoint and pencils also available
We have recently made available options to have many of the pens shown here made up as rollerballs, ballpoints or pencils. Please check details on the website for availability.
All pens are supplied in an elegant Conway Stewart presentation box and are accompanied by a Certificate of Provenance.
