Hello dear friends,
It is my intention to not offend anyone. But because this DIVERSITY project has been on my mind for years, and our beloved CATHE Center is in need of a fundraiser, and we now have the MOST AWESOME photographer, yogi and friend stepping up to support the venture (http://www.cmaedesign.com), we are calling for some beautiful brave souls to go from bare foot to bare body and demonstrate our diversity. The 2018 Beautiful Yoga Bodies of Peace Tree Yoga Calendar (please help with us create a more interesting name) is intended to expose, no pun intended, the great diversity of people who practice yoga. It is not about how we look, but rather sharing a love for our diverse community (young, old, large, small, freckled, tattooed, wrinkled, smooth, male, female, etc) celebrating our unique physiologies, and demonstrating that yoga is for everyBODY. Step into who you are, with love and acceptance, embracing your wholeness and perfection, JUST AS YOU ARE! I need 14 models to make this project happen. When the 14 spots are filled on a first come, first serve basis, the project is a go. The photo shoot is scheduled for September 6th in the afternoon. You can choose a pose (or be assigned one) that will preserve the integrity of the project. We cannot all do child's pose, so I have a list of discreet postures. You can also see some examples below. We will create a very private and secluded space in the studio and it will be a quick, fun and painfree process:-) I am excited to see where this goes. The idea comes from the movie Calendar Girls, so if there is some inspiration needed, you may want to see more of what I have in mind there.
