Banbury Cross Players invite you to join us for our next production of Abi Morgan’s Lovesong.
Morgan’s play is the story of one couple, told from two different points in their lives – as young lovers in their 20s and as worldly companions looking back on their relationship. Their past and present selves collide in this haunting and beautiful tale of togetherness. The optimism of youth becomes the wisdom of experience as memories are played out both in real time and remembered.
This fresh, contemporary piece balances a real-life story with an abstract presentation. The play was originally created in a physical theatre environment, and Director, Tara Lacey, and choreographer, Karen Baldry’s, approach for BCP’s production focusses on bringing flowing, stylised movement to the piece. “I’m most looking forward to the audience reaction” says Tara.
This play contains adult themes and some strong language.
