A Parish Financial Management Workshop for churchwardens, treasurers, clergy and interested parishioners is being held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (concluding with lunch) at Christ Church Bells Corners. Check-in and Coffee is at 9:00 a.m. The workshop will wrap up by 12:00 p.m. and then lunch will be served for those who wish to stay for fellowship.
Sanjay Grover, Director of Financial Ministry, and accountant Bill Gilbert will be facilitating this diocesan workshop. Participants will receive a copy of the “Managing Finances in the Parish” handbook. There is no fee to attend.

This workshop will cover the financial responsibilities of incumbents, churchwardens and treasurers. Included will be an overview of the workings of PFS (Parish Fair Share) and ECOPS (Equalized Cost of Priestly Services). The parish insurance program, investing in the Consolidated Trust Fund, borrowing from the Church Extension Fund, and other miscellaneous financial parish issues will also be addressed. An opportunity for people to ask their questions and receive answers will be an integral part of the session.
The material in the “Managing Finances in the Parish Handbook” will be reviewed and any recent updates or changes thereto will be brought to the attention of participants. It is hoped to include a brief introduction to an accounting software program which parish personnel may find helpful.
