Looking for an inspiring class gift?
Wish to honora teacher who has made a difference in your child’s life?
Want to help make Maynard’s schools even better?
The Teacher Tribute Program is the perfect solution!
MEF's Teacher Tribute Program is an opportunityto recognize those teachers who have had a positive impact on your child’s education. MEF has provided the Maynard community with the opportunity to have a direct impact on the quality of our schools since 2001. A tax-deductible donation to MEF directly benefits teachers, students, and administrators by providing access to funds outside of the school budget process—more than $13,000 this school year alone. Whether it be project seed money, professional development opportunities, or materials for new initiatives—a gift to MEF is an investment in our schools! MEF will send honorees a letter on your behalf, thanking them for their dedication and exceptional teaching, and you will have the satisfaction of knowing that your gift, (the amount will remain confidential), will continue to positively impact Maynard schools. Thank you!
IMPORTANT: The deadline for receipt of donations is Monday, June 12, 2017. Donations received after that date may be acknowledged in September.
Grant Highlight: New Social Thinking Curriculum & Materials
Thanks to a MEF grant, the Kindergarten team at Green Meadow School introduced a new Social Thinking Curriculum to their students this year. Their goal was to use the curriculum and new books, posters, and DVDs to teach the children how to deal with social situations and their emotions.
The Kindergarten teachers used the materials to present a new concept to the students each month. In addition to the curriculum, students benefited from supporting materials such as visual charts illustrating different strategies for dealing with emotions.
“We love the language of the Social Thinking Curriculum. The students in Kindergarten have learned what is expected and unexpected behavior. The lingo of the curriculum has caught on and is now being implemented school wide.” (Kindergarten teacher, Green Meadow School.)
Honor Your Recent or Future MHS Graduate by having their name and/or a message engraved on a brick that is placed in the MHS walkway.
