This Saturday June 10th (8pm) and Sunday June 11th (3pm) my short play UNCOVERING is part of The Hrostvitha Project - 7 new adaptations with Project Y Theatre's Women in Theatre Festival! It's about a purity ball in Colorado Springs and was inspired by DULCITUS (as were the six other pieces), a play written by a 10th century nun named Hrosthvitha of Gandersham. Project Y is all about celebrating women's voices, whether they are from the 10th century or the 21st. My piece is directed by Rachel Dart and features actors: Alexandra Curran, Ben Sheppard, Rachel Ingram and Gianmarco Soresi.
Featured playwrights include: Carded Svich, Pia Wilson, Lia Romeo, Stacie Lents, Michole Biancosino and Julienne Hairston. For tickets click HERE.

May was a fun month for my play THE NET WILL APPEAR, which had three development opportunities. Big thanks to American Theater Group and SOPAC, Dreamcatcher Rep and The Great Plains Theatre Conference (more on them in a moment) for their support of the play. I learned so much and am happily rewriting in preparation for the play's World Premiere at Mile Square Theatre this Fall.
Great Plains Theatre Conference! I've just returned from an 8-day theater bonanza in Omaha, Nebraska. This was my 4th time attending the conference, but my first as a playwright and it was joy abounding. Workshops, panel discussions, reading after reading after reading, full productions at night... it is pure theater heaven and every playwright should apply! I hope to attend again and again in the years to come!
Couldn't be happier to announce that my play THE SPOTTED GENTLEMAN was chosen to be part of the 42nd Samuel French Off-Off Broadway Short Play Festival! I had a piece in the festival two years ago and it was am insane amount of fun. I'm particularly excited to have this play involved as it is what I affectionately call my horror/comedy/gender-bending play.
Here's the description of THE SPOTTED GENTLEMAN: Charlene lives for her inappropriate 7am Central Park workouts with her god-of-a-personal-trainer, Bruce. But when her 8-year-old, Noah accompanies her and connects with a carnivorous falcon hovering above, her plans for “me time” are literally torn to shreds.

Some more fun news for this summer! My play REAR ENDING will be part of Cherry Picking 17: Hive Mind at Wild Project this August. This is my 5th summer being involved in this festival and I couldn't love Cherry Picking or their mission more. Read all about them HERE. More details later in the summer!
Hard to believe, but The Brooklyn Generator is wrapping up Season FIVE this month! It's been a great six months working with Guadalís Del Carmen, Bixby Elliot, Eric John Meyer, Noah T. Parnes, Juan Francisco Villa and all of the wonderful actors, directors and audiences they've brought into the mix. Each month I like to give a recommendation for an artist or project that I love. This month's shout out is for Project Y's WOMEN IN THEATRE FESTIVAL. In an effort to broaden opportunities for women playwrights, Project Y Theatre Company has commissioned nine female playwrights in two separate productions: GREAT AGAIN, an evening of plays by Crystal Skillman and Chiori Miyagawa, and The Hrosthvitha Project. They have also invited many companies to join them with their own projects led by women, including InViolet Theater, Athena Theater and Mason Holdings.
