                                                                                                        June 14, 2017

Dear Parents, Guardians, Alumni, Parishioners, and Friends of Assumption-St. Bridget School,
The 2016-2017 academic year will close up this week!  Students are excited and exhausted all at the same time- same for our wonderful faculty and staff!  We hope that all parents who can join us will come and celebrate our final Mass together as a community beginning at 10:45 in Assumption Church.  All are welcome!
As we are in our last few days, please continue to use caution when driving in our neighborhoods.  It is very easy to be distracted or rush and we would like to avoid any incidents, while also being respectful to our neighbors.  Please take note of no texting and driving, and avoid speed with our narrow and packed roadways.  Thank you!
We have another farewell to give to a long-time faculty member- Mr. Eric Dresbeck, PE teacher.  Eric has given 20 years of his career to the students and families of ASB, and for that we are forever grateful!   We wish Mr. Dresbeck well on the stage of his career.   Eric states:
“It is with mixed emotions that I am not returning for next school year.  I have been blessed to be part of this community for 20 years.  When I walked into school for the first time in the summer of 1989 I didn't know what to expect but in ASB I found a career in teaching and all of the joys that come with it.  What I have enjoyed the most in my time here is watching the students grow up.  Specialists get to be with each student every year and it is a privilege to have this opportunity, my biggest regret is not seeing this through with all of your children.  One unforeseen joy is seeing several children of the students that were at ASB during my first stint at the school, quite a humbling experience - not to mention a reminder of how old I am getting.  I wish the ASB community well.”
The following is an update in regards to our work towards a licensed PreKindergarten program which will allow us to hold a PreK extended care option:  State licensing paperwork is complete and now we await a visit by a state licensor.  Summer work at ASB includes preparing an outdoor space for our 4 year olds that suits State requirements.  Once we learn that we are licensed, we will share this information with our community and begin sharing details of the services offered.  We will keep you posted over the summer.  Thank you for your patience in this licensing process.
Please take a moment to read outgoing Parent Board President, Nikki Casey's, end-of-year remarks that she would like to share with the community.  Click here to read on.
In closing, please know that I will hold ASB in my heart and continue to keep all of you in my prayers.  It has been a privilege to be a part of the community!  I continue to work closely with next year’s administration- Mrs. Conklin, Mr. Dougherty, and Mr. Pouley.  We are blessed to have leadership succession prepared, capable and in place!  Enjoy your summer.  Take time to show gratitude, relax and connect to those around you.  Best of luck for a successful 2017-2018 school year!

In Christ's Peace,
Christina Vierra McGill

Thank You ASB families for the generous scrip certificates!  Hope you have a fun and restful summer!
Summer Box Top
Another collection sheet is coming home in today's Wednesday Envelope to be used for Summer Box Top collection. Please return this to school when the office reopens in August, or send to school with your child in the Fall.
LOST and FOUND:
If you are missing any items please check the bin by the girls bathroom in the main hall. All remaining unnamed lost and found items will donated Wednesday, June 21.

Also, when preparing for the return to school in fall don't forget to label clothing and items coming to school. The personalized stick on labels are the best and  easiest. They can go through the washer and dishwasher. Sharpie wears off some materials in the wash and becomes impossible to read over time. Initials on items, instead of names, are difficult to determine who they belong to with the amount of students in the school. The number of unnamed items donated weekly is quite large. If names are clearly legible on items it is very easy to return to the owners.

Thanks and have a great summer! Any questions please ask Debbie Dreis

Did you know that Integrated Technology & Library Media Teacher Jeri-Su Prewitt has developed a new ASB Technology website - check it out, linked to asbschool.org. The site will feature pictures, videos and information weekly to showcase tech ingetration at ASB. Thanks, Ms. Prewitt!

Standing orders will go home on June 14 - that's TODAY! If you have requested your June and July orders at this time, both are in your Wednesday envelope TODAY!

Please double check your scrip order today – if you didn’t receive your order, or if there is a mistake on your order – please let us know asap at scrip@asbschool.org. We are closing out our scrip cards on Friday, June 16. Scrip standing orders will not be processed in July and will automatically re-start in August.

All standing orders for the 2017-2018 school year will resume billing on August 10. The August standing order cards will be sent home with your child during the first week of school. If you’d like your cards earlier, they will be available at the Main Office in August and at the ASB Open House at the Scrip Table.

The Scrip Team would like to sincerely THANK YOU for your support this year!  We look forward to your continued support next year.

As the school year winds down, don't forget that many of your neighbors, friends & co-workers are still in school-mode for another week after ASB.
We still have a few spots open for Kindergarten 2017-18, as well as limited openings in grades 1-4, and 6th.  Even over the summer, it is not too late to reach out to learn more about ASB. Have interested families email me for info, and click here for an application.

Remember our awesome Incentive Referral Program!
If you refer a family that ends up enrolling, you are eligible for one month's tuition credit!

Happy Summer to all of you!  Thank you for all your support and help this year. I hope you enjoy a slower pace, time with your families, and many happy adventures.

As we prepare for the last days of school, I want to remind all Extended Care families that our program is in a transition period.  We are transitioning Extended Care into a summer camp, Camp ASB. In order to help this transition Extended Care will be CLOSED Friday, June 16 at 12:00 pm. This closure is to allow time to set up and prepare Camp ASB for the start of camp on Monday June 19.

Monday, June 19 is also the start of Session 1 of ASB KinderCamp.  The registration deadline for KinderCamp has passed, but if families would still like to register, please do so, as we are happy to accommodate as many families as we can.

Camp ASB Field Trips are reaching capacity and some have already reached their maximum attendance.  I will start waiting lists for any family that would like to join a field trip that is already full, and will be communicating with families ASAP to let them know the details about our field trips.

If you have any questions about Extended Care or Camp ASB, do not hesitate to contact me, I am happy to assist in whatever way that I can.

Thank you,
Dylan Pouley
