5 Exquisite Pens for Collectors

Is green the new black?

Timeless and elegant designs
that always look good in your hand or on your desk

Welcome to our Classic Green collection

When we launched our parade of black pens recently, we had no idea of the interest it would create. Yet here we are only a couple of months later and our 'concept collection' of black pens has gone viral on social media and been viewed and enjoyed by thousands of pen enthusiasts around the world.

So, following that same one-colour theme, we have put together another selection of pens for your consideration - this time in green.

Why green? Simply because it it is the second most popular colour after black and seems to be enjoying something of a renaissance with collectors. It's the most 'natural' colour and there's a freshness and timelessness about green that makes it ever-popular. Indeed, green pens have been included in Conway Stewart's range for almost 100 years.

So, welcome to our Classic Green collection. We hope you enjoy the variety of styles, weights and prices and find something to add to your collection.

#1. Conway Stewart Churchill in Bracket Green

The Statesman-like Churchill model has long been the flagship pen of the entitre Conway Stewart range - and with good reason. Its iconic design is recognised around the world as one of the finest pens ever made. It's elegance personified and has an undisputable presence that simply oozes character. If you are looking for a timeless pen with a reassuring 'heft' to it the Conway Stewart Churchill in Bracket Green will surely tick all the boxes.

Why is it called 'Bracket' green? Simply because when the pen is capped, as in the photo above, the green acrylic is 'bracketed' between a black acrylic back-end and a black acrylic tassie on the top of the cap.

In combination with solid gold fittings and an 18ct gold Flag nib, there is no finer British pen than this.

#2. Conway Stewart Series 100 in Classic Green

Next up is the Series 100 in Classic Green. Without doubt, the shape and style of the Series 100 gives it a timeless elegance that dates back to the 1920s and 30s - the heyday of British pen design.

Combined with solid gold fittings, including the distinctive two thin and one broad cap bands, this is a pen that simply oozes quality and demands to be used.

Conway Stewart Marlborough Classic Green

#3. Conway Stewart Marlborough in Classic Green

Inspired by the classic styling of vintage Conway Stewart models of the 1920s, the distinguished Marlborough is an elegant addition to any pen collection.

The Classic Green acrylic used for this pen is one of the most popular colours ever used by Conway Stewart. It is at once subtle but professional, elegant but understated. Decorated with broad bands of hallmarked solid gold and an 18ct gold Flag nib, we think it’s pen perfection!

#4. Conway Stewart Winston in Classic Green

The Conway Stewart Winston Classic Green holds true to the classic 1920s styling that made Conway Stewart famous, yet has a freshness that makes it a joy to hold and use.

Unlike all other Conway Stewart pens featured here, the Winston features a twist-fill ink mechanism which accesses the internal converter by a blind cap at the top of the barrel.

It has a slight taper to the barrel end and a gently rounded cap top and weighs in at a hefty 54 grams – like its namesake this is definitely a heavyweight pen, thanks to the brass mechanism that holds the converter and an additional internal brass sleeve which gives it perfect balance in your hand, whether posted or not.

Conway Stewart Raleigh Pistachio

#5. Conway Stewart Raleigh Pistachio

The final pen in this green collection (and my favourite!) is the Raleigh Pistachio. While not strictly a classic green colour, I think there is sufficient green in the mix of colours to warrant its inclusion - and the added ruby-brown flecks add an extra interest.

The Conway Stewart Raleigh is a unique design, departing from the traditional in several ways, while still retaining the classic styling that recalls Conway Stewart’s rich heritage. The perfectly proportioned barrel is accented with two solid gold rings and topped with a cap that features a slight inward curve towards the top. Unusually, there is a quartet of solid gold rings around the cap while both the cap top and barrel end feature a classic stepped design, which give the Raleigh an elegant touch of distinction.
