The new release of the IdP v3 Installer

The AAF has recently released a new version of the IdP installer  V3.3.1 1.3.1+idp-3.3.1-eudGAIN.
The new installer provides a range of additional features, including the latest version of Shibboleth IdP 3.3.1 and version 9.4.2 of Jetty.

Have you upgraded your IdP?

If you haven't upgraded your IdP from V2 to V3, we recommend that you do so as soon as possible. By doing so you will remove the risk of running an unsupported version.

If you would like to discuss your Shibboleth IdP V3 upgrade, contact AAF Support: support@aaf.edu.au

ECP

IdPs that have upgraded using the AAF Installer will already have Enhanced Client or Proxy (ECP) enabled by default. However, to ensure that ECP is working correctly, you need to register the ECP endpoints in the Federation Registry.

For a list of organisations that are ECP enabled, visit AAF Tools,  ECP.

Have your say! Complete the 2017 AAF Technical Subscriber Survey

Thank you for your ongoing support of the AAF. Once again we are seeking your thoughts and feedback to assist us with planning the services we deliver.

Please help us by completing our 2017 AAF Technical Subscriber Survey. The survey closes on Friday 16 June, 2017 at 5pm.

Feel free to pass it on to others that work closely with the AAF in your organisation.

ORCID UPDATE

Exposing ORCID IDs as attributes

Is your IdP running V3.3.1? Have you upgraded your IdP using the AAF-IdP Installer?

If the answer to these two questions is yes and your institution is collecting ORCID IDs, then you can expose the collected ORCIDs as an eduPersonORCID attribute to the Federation. ORCID also encourages institutions to supply their collected ORCID IDs as an eduPErsonORCID attribute via their IdPs.

There are currently three Australian universities within the Federation, which are exposing their collected ORCID IDs as an eduPersonORCID attribute.

These organisations include:
  • University of Queensland
  • University of Adelaide
  • Deakin University.
If you would like to find out more about the benefits that could be realised by exposing ORCID IDs as attributes, please contact us at support@aaf.edu.au

Upgrade your ORCID API to V2.0

Are you still on ORCID API V1.2?

This is just a reminder that API V1.2 will be deprecated at the end of 2017. If you are on API V1.2, you will need to upgrade to API V2.0 by the end of 2017.

If you have any questions or need more information about API V2.0 please get in touch with support@aaf.edu.au
