Check out our new Massachusetts brochure!

Wow! What an amazing few months we had touring the beautiful state of Massachusetts!  Even as a New England native, there were so many places I had never seen before.  Of course, it’s no secret that the state is rich in American history, but what a treat it was to experience it firsthand.  From the majestic Berkshires, to picturesque horse farms, historic cities and a national seashore.  We saw it all, and we met the most wonderful people along the way.  I wish to thank all 62 members who have made it possible to add Massachusetts to our growing AntiqueTrail.com family and for their wonderful and gracious hospitality!

Signature or Autograph Quilts

Signature, autograph. or frendship quilts became popular in the mid-1800s.  When family members moved far away, a signature quilt was given to them as a remembrance of their family.  Signature quilts were sometimes given to a young man when he left the home to become an adult and were called "freedom" quilts.  Another common occasion for giving a signature quilt was a wedding as a gift for the bride and groom.  Presentation quilts are another variety, and were given to beloved clergy, doctors, or teachers as gifts. Signature quilts were also made as fundraisers for missionary work or to support the troops during times of war.  These lovely examples are available at Past Thyme Antiques in Loudon, TN and at Wears Valley Antiuqes and Craft Gallery in Sevierville, TN.

Celebrating Fathers

June is the month that we celebrate our fathers, and AntiqueTrail.com offers a path to follow to find a unique and personal gift for your dad!  These photos are from Marcia's trip along the SmokyMountainAntiqueTrail in Sevierville, TN.
Father's Day has been celebrated across the globe since the Middle Ages to honor fathers, father figures, and the father's role in today's world.  Many countries of the world celebrate Father's Day in March on Saint Joseph's Day.  Instead of buying the traditional tie or golf balls, follow the trail to find something more personal.  There are all sorts of treasures to be found to decorate the man cave in your home.   The options are endless!
 Customer Website Background Selection

We have a better way to select website backgrounds than the website style edit page drop-down (although the old way still works). You’ll find the icon on the website/listings page when you login as a customer. Just remember to save the selection at the top after you make the selection. You’ll see the background previewed immediately when you click a selection.

The Shoppe at 350 Market owned by Sanford and Roberta Katine in Clinton, TN  wanted to be SURE they were not left off of TennesseeAntiqueTrail.com - so she called from their vacation in Hawaii to pay with their cc!   That's a satisfied customer who takes time away from their trip in Hawaii to think about AntiqueTrail.com!  THANK YOU The Shoppe at 350 Market!

I am so amazed at what Antique Trail-Marcia and Wendy, and all-are doing for the antique businesses across the U.S.!!  I would never have been able (capable) to have a website, gorgeous brochures, and all the advertisement that goes along with it for our business.  It is so affordable and will be seen by so many people.  Wendy and Marcia are fantastic people- very personable, helpful, and professional.  I fee truly blessed that Wendy came into our store and talked with me about AntiqueTrail.  Kudos to everyone associated with AntiqueTrail.

Thank you for all you do-

Greetings Marcia!
I was recently in Pensacola, FL and visited an antique shop with your Florida brochure, which I found very useful.  My husband and I have been collecting antiques for over 30 years, we own an 1835 Greek Revival home and I have been a member of the Owego Historic Preservation Commission for over 15 years.  Owego, NY is a small village in upstate new York with over 300 properties on the National Register of Historic Places.  I just ordered some brochures to aid us on our search for antique items for ourselves and other historic property owners- however, I did not see a brochure for New York or Virginia as being available to order despite my belief that they do exist.  Could you did around and find a New York and Virginia Brochure for me?  We travel all over our state, and we will be visiting Virginia soon.

From Kris in Owego, NY  (The Virginia brochure is being created now and NY will follow in the future!)

The Historic New Orleans Collection Quarterly writes

"New free online resource:  The Gulf South Decorative and Fine Arts Database

The Gulf South Decorative and Fine Arts Database is a free online reference catalog of objects dating from the 18th century to the Civil War.  Researchers, collectors and local history enthusiasts can browse thousand of decorative arts items made or used in the Gulf South prior to 1865.  Maintained by The Historic New Orleans Collections as part of the Louisiana Digital Library, it makes the work of the Classical Insitutes of the South (CIS)--now part of THNOC--available to the public.

Decorative arts lovers can browse antiques from across the South on this free online database.  Visit www.hnoc.org/collections/digital-collections.htmo and click on "Gulf South Decorative Arts and Fine Arts Database."  For more on CIS and the database, read CIS coordinator and research curator Sarah Duggan's article in the winter 2017 issue of The Historic New Orleans Collection Quarterly,"

Help a member- The picture I'm looking for is a Sunday School Illustration from the 1930's thru the 1960's.  In the background on the right side, you see a man and woman in the kitchen of a home.  The man is holding the woman and it appears he is trying to comfort her.  In the foreground of the picture, you are looking in the bedroom of an elderly lady.  She is lying in bed and has a sweet smile on her lips.  Her hair is in a bun.  Beside her bed is a picture of a bride and groom.  The bride has long blonde hair and the groom has dark hair.  Beside the elderly ladies bed is a man with dark hair dressed in a white robe and he is holding hands with a young blonde woman, also dressed in a white robe, who is rising out of the elderly ladies body.
