2017 JETAA USA National Conference

We are excited to have JETAA National Conference in Washington this year! We're busy working on the agenda, setting up fun evening plans, and lining up speakers to make this a productive and memorable gathering of JETAA leaders from across the USA (and Canada)! As you know, this is a very special year because we'll be celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the JET program with a big, blowout event that we're calling JET30 Reunion.
Every Chapter is invited to send two delegates; each delegate will need to confirm their attendance SEPARATELY by clicking on the blue, "Sign Up Here" button at the bottom of this message.

CONFERENCE OVERVIEW
Arrive: Wednesday, August 2nd
We are asking delegates to arrive by Wednesday evening, at the latest, so that the conference can promptly begain at 9am, Thursday morning. There will be an informal Welcome Happy Hour hosted by JETAADC, that will be walking distance from the hotel.
Attire: Casual
Meetings: Thursday, August 3rd
NatCon will take place at the Omni Shoreham from 9am to 5pm. We will be having a Welcome Reception Dinner that will be walking distance from the hotel, followed by a fun activity hosted by JETAADC. (No prior registration needed to participate.)
Attire: Business
Meetings: Friday, August 4th
NatCon presentations will be at Omni from 9am to 1pm. Starting at 2pm, JET30 Reunion presentations will begin. In the evening, we will be attending the Embassy of Japan Reception, location TBD.
Attire: Business
JET30: Saturday, August 5th
JET 30 Reunion, events, and presentations. Everything that happens on this day will be with all other guests who are in attendane at JET30. In the evening, there will be the Natsu-matsuri dinner and celebration. Please get into the spirit of the festivities and bring your yukata!
Attire: Business/Business Casual
Depart: Sunday, August 6th after 2pm
The conference will officially end at 12pm; please allow for 1 hour of travel time to the airport. We will be doing Chapter Reports on Sunday, which you won't want to miss! Please plan accordingly. If you're able to stay in DC longer on Sunday, there will also be more JET30 activities that youl'll be able to join in on after the official end of NatCon 2017.

SPECIAL REQUEST
Due to our very limited budget this year, we are asking Chapters that have extra funds to assist in covering the Wednesday night hotel room. The cost is $132 and will cover both your delegates. We ask that the money be sent to USJETAA and be included in our full reservation so that all rooms can be paid, tax-exempt. You will be asked in the Delegate Sign Up Form if that's something your Chapter is able to help support for NatCon. We are also currently fundraising to help offset this for smaller Chapters, and other expenses for all Chapters. If you have any questions regarding this please contact monica.yuki@jetaausa.com

*** Your hotel room has already been booked for the entire weekend, 8/2 - 8/6 (including NatCon & JET30). All rooms are double occupant and we will assign roommates based on gender. All meetings for NatCon and JET30 will take place at the official hotel, Omni Shoreham.
*** We are looking for Chapters that can help cover the cost of the first night of rooms on August 2nd. Even if your Chapter will not be able to pay, please plan on arriving on August 2nd.

We'll be sending an e-mail later this month to collect your flight info so that we're able to coordinate rideshares to the hotel. Your local Chapter GIA travel budget should cover your flight cost and ground transportation fees.

We will share all delegates' travel information to coordinate ride sharing. It'll take approximately 30 minutes to and 1 hour, depending on which airport you've chosen to fly into.

It is mandatory for all Delegates to register and sign up for the JET30 Reunion. Please take advantage of the early bird price of $125 by signing up by July 2nd. Please share with your members that you'll be attending JET30 and rally more people to join in!
