Game on! We Are Now Circulating Video Games for Adults

The Library’s new video game collection features over 50 different Teen and Mature-rated game titles. The games, which may be borrowed for up to seven days at a time, are for use with the PlayStation 4, Xbox, and Wii U systems. Checkout limit is one game per Library user.

The Library already lends video games suitable for children, but for Sam Ott and Becky Fyolek, two of the Staff coordinating the new collection, focusing on older gamers is a significant step. “People don’t realize just how popular gaming is among people over twenty-five,” said Ott, a Senior Information Assistant at the Library. “We’re not just collecting games as something petty or frivolous—they’re a big part of the culture for a lot of people in the community. And now, we have games that appeal to their age group and interests.”

The video game collection is located on the second floor of the Main Library. Titles can be placed on hold through the catalog.
