Dear Members,
I am pleased to tell you about some great enhancements we have made to the Naffziger Society website, and most notably the Membership Directory.
- Email a Member from the Directory - We have added a new column to the Membership Directory for member email addresses, signified by a clickable envelope icon. By default, we list only public email addresses such as those available from institutional directories at academic medical centers, e.g., https://directory.ucsf.edu, or listed on a member's public biography or profile. A member whose email address is non-public may request that we add it to the Membership Directory using the new Update Member Information form described below.
- New Form for Updating Member Information - We have redesigned the Update Member Information form and enhanced it with new features. Members may use this form to request additions or changes to their Membership Directory entry including their External Biography Link, Video Link, Surgical Specialty, and Institution or Practice Locale. This form may also be used to update the member's mailing address and/or phone number, part of the Society's internal records and never displayed on the website.
- New Member Videos in the Directory - We have added a new column to the Directory for member videos, signified by a camera icon. These are videos typically produced by the member's institution, e.g. UCLA, Stanford, Johns Hopkins, and then posted to YouTube or Vimeo for public viewing. These videos are short vignettes about the member's clinical expertise or research, a short self-portrait, or a lecture. Clicking on the camera icon plays the video in a floating lightbox.
- Membership Directory Now More Comprehensive than Ever - We have updated biography links for members who have changed institutions, added the recently graduated UCSF Chief Residents for 2017, and added a slew of engaging videos, 77 in number, that showcase the careers, clinical mastery, and research vistas of our members.
We hope these updates will provide a richer experience for you on the website and enable you to more easily reach out to your esteemed colleagues.
