(JUNE 16 , 2017 – Chicago) The Cicerone® Certification Program today announced the addition of a new staff member based in Latin America. Josemaria “Chema” Mora will work with breweries, importers, retailers, and beer and culinary education organizations to promote Cicerone’s Spanish language programs and products. He will act as a point person for Latin American customer support activities, including remote and in-person visits to businesses, technical meetings, and tradeshows.

“We are excited to have Chema working with our team,” said Ray Daniels, Founder and Director of the Cicerone Certification Program. “He’s the kind of vibrant and passionate beer professional that has been essential to our growth.”

Chema is based in Costa Rica and was the first in the region to become a Certified Cicerone®. Before joining Cicerone, he completed studies in Engineering at the Rochester Institute of Technology. In 2011, he built his own beer business that has since become a fundamental component of Costa Rica's developing craft beer culture. Chema's industry experience includes designing and installing breweries, teaching home brewing classes, judging and organizing beer tournaments, and consulting on beer and food pairing menus.
