Love your work. Love your life.
Dear Friends,

This was a week where a lost pair of sneakers derailed a perfectly planned morning routine. A week where my 11yo saw her closest friend graduate and leave her behind to navigate her final year without her, a week where we celebrated, cried and went through a dizzying array of emotions, all while trying to keep the work balls in the air. I am sure your week was a lot like mine and that you are just as startled when in the middle of your hoopla, someone turns to you and says: “Ready for summer?!”

Community Time

Summer is easier and breezier. No homework, reduced work stress and longer sunny days. What better time than to focus some of your energy on joining or starting new communities!

If you’re intimidated by the thought of forming relatively loose, informal bonds with a wider group of people, start small. Think about the groups you might like to join. If you’ve always wanted to be part of a softball team or a cooking club, now’s the time. if there isn’t an existing group for you to join, try starting one. This week I spoke with a single mom who has tons of friends but not a lot of people to talk to about her divorce. I suggested she start a single moms monthly cocktail club and she was off to the races before the conversation even ended.

Expanding your community offers increased security, rituals and deeper relationships. Summertime is your time!
