Join us for our Boost your Business Growth Event which will be held at The Lights in Andover on Tuesday 20th June.

At our event you will hear from guest speakers who are growing their business with expertise and support from the Enterprise M3 Growth Hub, Test Valley Borough Council and Hampshire County Council. The support aims to cover the key areas to help businesses grow and will be available through a free exhibition and a number of advice seminars.

The seminars will focus on a specific area related to growing your business and will be developed by local experts on topics such as social media, protecting your business, financial control for the growing business, and marketing.

The event presents a great opportunity to understand how the Growth Hub can support your business, whether it is growing, a start-up or merely a great idea.

There is also the chance to engage and network with the growing community of Hampshire SMEs and partner organisations that work in the region to drive job growth and prosperity.

Andover College launch ‘Digital Futures’

Andover College is launching an inspiring new approach to its computing, digital and creative media courses this year, meeting the dynamic nature of digital technology today with the support of various local businesses. The ‘Digital Futures’ initiative recognises the increasing demand for multi-faceted creative and technological skills in the industry by preparing students with a combination of technical and creative skills, providing an invaluable service to top employers.
Principal Tim Jackson explains: “We are training students for jobs and careers which have yet to be created but we know these dynamic industries are increasingly looking for digital experts with technical, mathematical and creative talent. ‘Digital Futures’ combines these elements, enabling animators to learn how to code and draw and programmers to work with artists to build creative and digital solutions. We’re leading the way in our unique approach to the delivery of these courses, furthermore providing the next generation of specialists to local businesses in need of digital upskilling”.
The College will develop a curriculum that enables its students to learn a solid grounding in a range of disciplines to give them the flexibility to ‘skills migrate’ as their career options open for them.  For example, the video expert might work with a web designer to embed dynamic content for a business, which can then be used on a social media feed: rather than only learning very specific skills, more students will also be equipped to multi-task.

RADIO DAZE

Our new local radio station 'Andover Radio' bursts onto the airwaves later this summer, but they have a lot more than annoying jingles to offer local businesses.

Ahead of their official ‘on-air’ launch will be Andover Armed Forces Day (June 25th) and the release of the town's new website, loveandover.com – a socially-connected and content-rich interactive portal which will showcase positive news and useable information about Andover.

Radio station founders are also offering their experience in multi-media marketing to bona fide Andover businesses to aid customer acquisition in a digitally competitive world.

"Right now, someone, somewhere is buying from your competitor”, says Andover Radio founder David Harber.

“We could help prevent that by putting your business 'top of mind' while prospective customers are just one click away from purchase.

"Infiltrating consumers' buying decisions by connecting online and offline marketing can increase sales and significantly reduce your marketing spend."

Marketing packages are offered at a discount for early adopters and all packages come with built-in radio advertising and scalable digital marketing solution.

Hand-in-hand with sister company ‘Love Andover’, the town’s pioneering radio station is poised to launch an 'Andover DIY SOS' campaign to renovate their new High Street studios, enabling a low-cost, modern and ‘digitally connected’ collaborative workspace for SME and start-up businesses. The volunteer managed studio space will also provide free advice, support and facilities to Andover's charitable organisations.

If you would like to know more contact info@andoverradio.co.uk or call 01264 847831.

www.loveandover.com launches later this month.

The Test Valley Business Awards Steering Committee have this week announced broadcaster and former music legend, Rev. Richard Coles, as Guest Speaker at the widely anticipated Gala Dinner & Awards Ceremony for 2017.

A classically trained musician, Rev. Coles shot to fame as one half of 1980s British pop duo The Communards, best known for the hit: ‘Don’t Leave Me This Way’.

A regular panel guest on TV shows such as Have I Got News for You, and QI, Rev. Coles has made many TV and Radio appearances in his time; enjoying over 2 million regular listeners of his BBC Radio 4 show ‘Saturday Live’.

Now in its 13th year, the Test Valley Business Awards – run by a small steering group of volunteers and supported by the Council – has become a well-established platform to promote business excellence and especially to shine a light on the many new and small innovative businesses operating out of sight.
