DiscipleKit update - June 2017
Welcome to our latest cherry pick of great resources now reviewed and available via disciplekit.org. It’s hard to choose a few to highlight, but we hope you enjoy the range below.  It covers some of life’s ingredients, from Getting Your Kids Through Church (without them ending up hating God), through the potential career path of Becoming Reverend, and how to evangelise effectively to Men, to Grave Talk – an imaginative resource to help us begin to think about dying. How to live well on the journey is the focus of Life Is_; and then there’s Global Kids – one of the best children’s resources we have seen. Take a look.

We would also be very grateful if you would give us some feedback for our review of DiscipleKit. We are delighted with how well it is being received, and how useful people are finding it – and would love to make it even better. It should only take two minutes (there are only four questions!). Thanks so much.

GLOBALkids – Children’s Materials with a Heart for Mission

WELCOME TO GLOBAL KIDS! Our aim is: to share the Good News of salvation with children, to help children discover what God is doing around the world through the work of OM, and to enthuse children about mission and empower then to get involved through prayer and in other practical ways.

If you’re a Sunday School Teacher, GLOBALkids is here to serve and resource your church. Using Bible based materials, we help children understand mission and excite them about sharing the Good News of God’s love from a young age.

As a ministry of OM UK, GLOBALkids has over 10 years’ experience of producing resources that take children on a journey. They will discover real-life examples of what God is doing through the work of OM worldwide.
Getting Your Kids Through Church

A ready-to-run course for parents, youth workers, church leaders and anyone interested in supporting young people.

This flexible, DVD-based course is for parents, church leaders, youth and children’s workers – anyone who is passionate about nurturing and encouraging faith in the next generation. The sessions are presented by Rob Parsons OBE and Katharine Hill who are joined by special guests including Mike Pilavachi, Director of Soul Survivor and Gavin Calver, National Director, Youth for Christ.
Life Is...

Life Is ______ God’s Illogical Love Will Change Your Existence.

Judah Smith believes Jesus shows how to live life to the fullest. In this six-session video study, Judah completes the new sentence again and again, revealing how

Life is to be loved and to love.
Life is to trust God in every moment.
Life is to be at peace with God and yourself.
Life is to enjoy God.

Becoming Reverend

Becoming a vicar seems a long shot. Becoming a dad will take a miracle.

Matt Woodcock’s frank, funny real-life diaries reveal what it was like for him to train as a vicar while struggling against all odds to become a father. In them he lays bare his joys and struggles as he attempts to reconcile his calling as a vicar with his life a s a part-loving journalist, footy-freak and incorrigible extrovert.

Becoming Reverend is a compelling and original account of how faith can work in the midst of a messy life, combing family, fertility, faith and friendship with the story of a divine – but unlikely – calling.

Men

Carl Beech and Nathan Blackaby present a feature-packed resource to help churches reach men with the gospel, including lessons learned from around the UK, CVM’s proven strategies and some of the latest research on this critical issue.

Learn more about CVM’s 4-Level evangelism strategy and how it can help you introduce Jesus to the men in your community.

Ideal for your men’s group, leadership teams and denominational missioners.

Also features several case studies from men’s groups around the UK, with examples of activities for connecting with men who do not attend church.
Grave Talk

A café space to talk about death, dying and funerals.

Gravetalk is a simple way to help people in your community get together and talk about death, dying and funerals in the relaxed easy context of a café space. It has been tried and tested over the past two years and proved successful and popular.
