First off, a huge, heartfelt thank you to all of you for your encouragement and energy for our inaugural Summer CSA. We are blown away by the sheer number of you, and are so excited to start delivering your boxes! We believe in the CSA format because of how it supports our local community--allowing growers to feed, educate, and give back to their neighbors with a financial backing in the beginning of the season, when growers need it most. Your support proves you believe that too, and are doing your part to lead a healthy, responsible, engaged community. Thank you! You are so appreciated!
Our first CSA delivery is scheduled June 21-22. With the cold, wet spring we've been having, our produce is off to a slower start, but we're excited that everything is growing well. As we get closer, we'll be reaching out to let you know whether to expect your delivery on Wednesday or Thursdays. If you're not having yours delivered, we'll be following up with details about pick-ups/meeting at an alternate location.
We currently have one share left available, so if you have friends that may be interested, tell them to act quickly!

What's Growing
In the ground right now and closest to harvesting are gooseberries, snow peas, rhubarb, and lots of flowers! We've also got beets, leeks, onions, peppers, and tomatoes, just to name a few. This weekend we'll be getting our seed potatoes ready to plant.
Last week we also brought home a new batch of laying hens! We bought Hall Crosses, and though they're still chicks, are already impressed by how friendly and calm they are. They won't be laying until they're 6 months old, but having chickens of all ages is important to keep the flock producing.
