Artist Rosary Solimanto will perform a 24 Hour action of protest at the offices of Senators' Gillibrand and Shummer on Tuesday, June 13 1pm to Wednesday, June 14, 1pm at 780 3rd Avenue between 26th + 27th Streets.
The Trump Care Bill proposal is a direct violent threat against millions of lives that are disabled or with chronic health conditions. Without Medicaid, there will be no doctors appointments, prescriptions won't be filled, treatments and surgeries won't happen. Many people will die. Without at home nursing care institutionalization will happen, blocked grants mean a limit to what's available (and it's already limited) , labeling of pre-existing conditions is discrimination, removal of health care for children and mothers, as well as birth control – will wreak havoc and cause needless suffering to the lives of millions including the artist. IT MUST STOP!
The artist will perform for 24 hours, lifelessly inside of a coffin outside Senators Gillibrand and Schumer offices in NYC. She is performatively protesting to stop the fast tracking of the bill, to allow for a Health Care March in NYC, to speak out more boldly for people with disabilities, to uphold basic human rights and an interview in that I may express my inside perspective as to what it's like living, trying to make a living and issues surrounding health care being disabled.
