Our school needs to grow. A bigger school means a more vibrant community, better facilities for more children and the means for increased recognition for all our wonderful, generous and dedicated (largely volunteer!) staff. Word of mouth is the number 1 way of growing enrolments so please share this with everyone.

Helena River Steiner School

Dear Parents and Community,
Our Winter Festival is fast approaching.
On Wednesday 21st June, the Winter Solstice, we will celebrate the long, dark nights of winter and honour the inner stillness and reflection we should dwell in at this time, before the lengthening days of spring gradually take us back out into the world of the outer senses again. It is a truly magical event for all the family and we urge all our playgroup, kindy and primary families to be there.
It starts at 5 pm and will be finished around 6.30 pm. If you have little ones who need to go to bed earlier than that, you are welcome to leave at any time. Please bring a bowl or mug and a spoon for each person for soup, plus a picnic rug. And don't forget the warm coats, beanies and thick socks!
If you would be willing to contribute a large pot of homemade soup or a loaf of bread (homemade would be lovely!) then please let one of us know.
All kindergarten and primary children will have already made their lanterns at school. We encourage parents/family members/friends to make a simple lantern for themselves to bring. Even a glass jar with
a tea light candle inside and a string tied around the top for a handle will work well. If, however, you aren't able to make one, we will probably have a few spares.
Please do not confuse this with another public event we are holding earlier on the same day: the Lantern Workshop. Parents are welcome, of course, to attend this public workshop (4-5 pm)  if they wish to make a lantern with our help, but the main event for our families is our Winter Festival which begins at 5.
I look forward to sharing a night of gentle flames, hot soup and warm voices with you all on Wednesday the 21st June.
Blessings on our school,
Tanami Magnus

Principal

BUNNINGS WORKING BEE THIS WEDNESDAY!
