Reporting on Ruth and Isaac's service project in Mexico.

Can you spot Ruth in this van full of kids? Ruth and Isaac had a great time in Mexico, serving with teams from 4 other churches.

"This was one of the best weeks of my life!"

That's what Isaac had to say about the week that he and Ruth spent at Misión Isaías 55 in Reynosa, Mexico. They welded soccer goals, filled potholes in the city streets, and learned a bunch about the border—specifically, that "God is doing all kinds of things all over the place."

They weren't allowed to bring cameras or phones so we don't have many photos, but the mission made a nice video compilation of the week. You can watch it on YouTube

A big thank you to everyone who prayed for them! Especially to everyone who prayed that Isaac would get back across the border (he was traveling with his birth certificate, not a passport). Everything went smoothly.

Dirt, dust, and gravel

After doing construction in Mexico, Ruth and Isaac came back to a construction zone at home, as we made a graveled parking area behind our garage for Samuel's future sailboat. After working in the heat in Mexico, they kept on working in the heat in Texas. Go team!

We (Liz and Fraser) were going to go out to dinner to celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary, but we spent the day moving dirt and gravel. Who says dirt can't be romantic?
