Jazz News

Brian Asselin will be leaving ONHB.  We'd like to thank him for his dynamic leadership of ONHB jazz bands over the past six years.  We wish Brian all the best as he focuses his attention on family, teaching and his burgeoning career on stage.  We'll look for him at the Junos!

We are excited to welcome Jean-Francois Fauteux as the leader of the Two Beats Ahead Jazz Band.  JF is a well respected music teacher with the OCDSB, and brings with him a great deal of jazz experience and enthusiasm.  Check out his bio.

Intermediate-level jazz players will be delighted to hear that Paul Behne will continue as leader of the Downtown Jazz Band.

And here's some more good news - we're working on developing a beginner jazz band for the winter session.  It will be for musicians who are familiar with their instruments but who have never played jazz before.  We will need at least 20 people for this band to go, and we will be asking for expressions of interest in the fall.

The ONHB team wishes you all a wonderful summer.
