27TH  ANNUAL CONGRESS

EUROPEAN CHILDHOOD OBESITY GROUP

ROME   15, 16, 17                                       NOVEMBER 2017
Dear colleague,

Following our fourth announcement, we would like to share with you a few important updates concerning the 27th European Childhood Obesity Group Annual Congress (#ECOG17) that will take place in Rome from the 15th to 17th of November 2017.

We hope that you will take this excellent opportunity to present your research, get updated with the new advances in the field and make new contacts while visiting Rome, the eternal city!

 

ABSTRACTS   
 
      The abstract submission deadline is          

  30th June 2017  

   Please download the call for abstracts and the abstracts template here

       11 abstracts will be selected for oral presentations.
       24 abstracts will be selected for poster     sessions.
 
         All approved abstracts will be published in Acta Paediatrica,
if the first author attends the congress.
 
In  order  to  submit  your  abstract,  please  
complete your registration with the payment of the abstract fee (25€).
 Only abstracts for which the payment is received will be assessed.
 

Abstract submitters will be informed about the result of the evaluation of their abstract in late July/early August 2017.

Preliminary Program 
 
We are delighted to inform you that a preliminary program is now available here. We have secured participation from 18 international speakers and we are proud to list them in the latest version of the program available here.
Please note that the congress's working language is English and no translation into Italian or other languages will be provided.

Pope Francis' General Audience
 
 
In addition, on November 15th at 10.00 we have secured participation to Pope Francis' General Audience in the Paul VI Audience Hall in the Vatican City. Participation is reserved to registered delegates and registered accompanying persons. For security and booking reasons, in order to attend, interested delegates should confirm their intention to participate by providing their names and nationality by 30th of June at the latest.

ECOG is a pan-European group of professionals dealing with childhood obesity and overweight. ECOG brings together experts from across the board including: paediatricians, psychologists, nutritionists, geneticists, physical activity experts, economists and many more. The group was founded in 1991 and its mission is to help the European community at large to understand fully the health, social, psychological and economic impacts of childhood obesity, and work together to take this growing problem "off the menu" in Europe.
