The Meal Jesus Shared

This morning will dwell on the meal that Jesus shared with his disciples before his passion and what Christians now celebrate as Holy Communion, Eucharist or Lord’s Supper.

We will spend time with different aspects of the evening before Jesus’s crucifixion as well as meetings after the resurrection.

Outline of the morning

The day will begin with morning prayer together and a led reflection to introduce the theme. We focus on one aspect of the meal at a time, with quiet space in between for individual reflection.

At the end of the morning we will share a home-cooked meal together as well as bread and wine.
(There can, of course, be non-alcoholic or gluten free alternatives if required.)

Forgiveness: a painful path but a glorious way

Led by Rev Preb Roger M Vaughan.

Forgiveness plays a central part in our Christian experience, both in terms of receiving the forgiveness of God through Jesus for ourselves, and our need to forgive others. However we don’t often examine exactly what this may mean for us in particular circumstances. When we do we discover that forgiveness is indeed a very painful and sometimes almost impossible path, but with Gods help it is a glorious way.

The evening will include time for quiet contemplation.

Every Saturday morning in August

Library open morning

St Chad’s House has an extensive library of books on Christian theology and in particular Celtic Christianity.

The library will be open to visit every Saturday morning in August, from 10.00am to 1.00pm.

It is also a chance to visit the house and perhaps spend some quiet moments here.

Most books in the library are also available to borrow.
