First Aid Course - 27 August

We have arranged for Medilife, a Commonwealth Government Registered Training Organisation, to run a First Aid Course. The trainer is the same as last year, has a wealth of experience and is able to deliver the course in and interesting and informative manner.
When: Sunday 27 August, 9am to 5pm.
Where: At the Club
Cost: $120
Course Details: HLTAID003 Provide First Aid - Fastrack / Refresher. This includes three units:
- Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- Provide Emergency Life Support
- Provide First Aid
On successful completion you will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for these units, the First Aid is valid for 3 years.
Apart from making your club a safer environment for everyone, why should you do the course?
- The course complies with most workplace requirements for first aid
- If you wish to become a YA Instructor you will need this or a similar course
- It may one day save your life or the life of a loved one/mate

LC12ftSSC as a not-for-profit organisation relies on the generosity of members and supporters to keep the club going. Every dollar counts so we have we have a registered project with the Australian Sports Foundation Ltd (ASF). Donations made via ASF nominating LC12ftSSC as the main beneficiary will be tax deductible. All grants from the ASF will be applied to maintaining our Support Boats and Equipment for Sail Training.

Seeking Assistant Instructors
Have you sailed and raced for a season or more? Do you want to help others learn how to sail?

We will be running an Australian Sailing Assistant Dinghy Instructor course at the club on Sunday August 6. As with all of our instructor training the club will assist with the cost of training in return for time volunteered with the club Learn to Sail program.
|
|

Australian Womens Keelboat Regatta Winners
|
|
|
A recent great win that included two of our Lane Cove sailors in the 27th Australian Women's Keelboat Regattta held on Port Phillip Bay, winning AMS and coming third on performance handicap - plus being the sole NSW representative boat at the regatta.
The winning crew included Kat Wotherspoon, Karyn Gojnich, Elyse Guevara-Rattray, Liz Borberg, Olga Skatkova, Maria Nash, Sara Jeannette and Teresa Dowding. Well done girls! For the full race story go to:
