Aboriginal languages
The NSW Government understands Aboriginal languages are too important to lose and is working with Aboriginal communities in NSW to protect and strengthen them. To make sure this succeeds the government is introducing new legislation. This is a new set of legal rules that mean the government must act to look after Aboriginal languages not only for today’s communities, but for future generations. Written submissions to Aboriginal Affairs NSW on the Languages bill are open and can be accessed here.
If you would like to make a submission in another way, please email conversation@aboriginalaffairs.nsw.gov.au or call 1800 019 998.
