Condolences

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of one of our old members, Noel Laurie.
He was well known to many and had many good running years. Noel ran 16 Comrades with his best time clocking at 7:54. He started running Comrades at the age of 45. The Magnolia Committee would like to convey our well wishes and condolences to the family and friends of Noel.

Magnolian of the month

The Magnolia Committee decided to announce a Magnolian of the Month in order to introduce all the movers and shakers to the club, based on any form of service/contribution or achievement.

For the month of June we decided to award this to Tinus Marais and Freddie du Plessis. After serving on the Magnolia club committee for several years, they are still very actively involved in helping out and contributing. They never hesitate to help with Sunday runs or any other event hosted by the club. They are the typical members of Magnolia whose button we can always press on. They also help out with Comrades every year and have a huge roll in the success of the Comrades club tent.

Club tent

The next club tent will be at:
  • Glenfair Race for Friendship on Saturday 24 June
  • Riana van Niekerk Run on Saturday 1 July
  • Garsfontein Ice Breaker 8 July
The club tent will be at all Pretoria races on weekends unless specified otherwise. No club tent at races on Wednesdays.

Cold drinks and snacks are provided by the club.
PLEASE NOTE: Beer/ciders will be available at no cost at races with a distance of 32km and more, otherwise beer will be sold for R12 and ciders for R15

Please contact Dirk Olivier 082 787 5097 should you have any queries regarding the club tent
