Family is a blessing!
We have had some very eventful months. One thing we always make sure to take time for is our family. We are so blessed to have our daughters around us and our 4 grandchildren.
Below is a picture from Christian's 56th birthday and for the first time with all four of our grandbabies. Gabriel (5), Kaleb (3), Isabelle (2) and Emily (2.5 months)

Big changes for Elisabeth (Lissy)

|
Elisabeth has been working part time for the EBTC, cooking for the office staff, seminars and taking classes online for the past three years. This summer she has been accepted at a prestigious hotel management academy: Steigenberger Akademie. She will be starting her training in hotel management early this September. We are all very excited for her! The only downside is we will have to let her move down to southern Germany (on the border to Austria) so we will be missing her a lot soon.

Christian's Birthday Bash
Earlier this June we celebrated Christian's birthday with our daughters and their families, our parents and Christian's younger brother. In so many ways we are blessed and constantly reminded of this through our family. We enjoyed cake, surf and turf and lots of grandkid hugs and kisses.

|
Philip (very left), has returned from his first USMC deployment just over 7 weeks ago. He was deployed, traveled all over the globe and then spent the last two months in the Middle East. Please pray for his transition back in the states. It is hard not being there to welcome him home, but we are so thankful for dear friends who have pretty much adopted our family and provide a home for him whenever he needs it.

Ministry
Last Sunday we celebrated our first baptism! Four young people, including our daughter Stephanie were baptized in a lake not far from our church by Christian and our son-in-law Marco.
Stephanie had been baptized when she was a freshman in high school but came to realize that she was not saved at this time. She decided to take this step of obedience and share her testimony in our new church.

Three other young men were baptized and shared clear beautiful testimonies of how God has changed their hearts and lives. We are so thankful to see how God has been working in our little church to strengthen these individuals and the entire body.

EBTC
Another school year has come to an end at the European Bible Training Center.
Just over 200 students have graduated from the Preacher's Institute, Biblical Survey, as well as Biblical Counseling classes. Once again, we can only praise and thank the Lord for carrying Sheryl and I, all of the EBTC staff and teachers through! Every year we are challenged, blessed and encouraged through highs and lows in ministries all around Europe. God has always provided for our needs whether that be financial or manpower. Thank you for coming along side us in prayer and giving towards this ministry, making it possible for us to serve here!
Please pray for our graduates, that they would share the gospel, encourage and strengthen the churches and communities they are in.
Please pray for our EBTC staff while we start preparing for the new school year.

As mentioned earlier, God has given us the needed man power to meet our growing responsibilities. This past spring a young family decided to move to Berlin for a year and use their 'parent time' (Germany allows every parent to take a year off of work and is still paid at least 60% of their income if they choose to do so) to come and work at the EBTC. This is one example of many of the men and women who work part or full-time to serve at the EBTC. We are constantly encouraged to see how God is working in our lives and is providing for our needs.
