The Canada Day long weekend is upon us and we will be taking July 1st off to enjoy time with our families and friends and take in the local festivities. We hope you have a wonderful day, however you choose to celebrate!
Mother Nature continues to provide more than enough moisture this growing season, here's hoping that July brings a bit more sunshine and warm temperatures. While the excess moisture and high humidity not only promote plant growth, it also promotes the growth of weeds! Applying mulch to your gardens will help to keep the weeds in check. A 3-4" layer of mulch is most effective by keeping the soil cool and moist and depriving the weeds of light.
Our annual summer sale is underway in the garden centre. All remaining vegetables, herbs, 6 pack and 4" annuals are now 50% off! Remaining stock of annual hibiscus are reduced to 30% off! Make sure you take advantage of the savings and top up any spaces that need a bit more colour!
Our maintenance crew are hard at work on new garden installations as we try to catch up from the numerous rain delays! It is perfect planting weather so stop by and see the many options still available in perennials, shrubs and trees.
As mentioned above, we will be closed on July 1st but back open on Sunday July 2nd from 10 am - 4 pm. Have a great long weekend and we'll see you at the garden centre.
