Maersk Line systems and APM Terminals have been severely affected by a global cyber ransomware that has impacted their operating systems, crippling operations to the point of temporary shutdown. Because of these attacks, gate operations in these terminals are adversely affected, with extensions of free time offered as containers are unable to outgate. This means truckers are unable to make terminal appointments and it will cause a delay in delivery.
Nhava Sheva is one such terminal operated by APMT which is completely shut down. This is causing congestion, as other lines have a surge in booking requests which are slowing systems to such a point that it is taking them up to 8 hours to complete regular tasks. Please note, this has had a global impact, including major ports such as LAX/LGB and NY.
Maersk and APMT are working to get up and running as soon as possible, while overseas offices are working to minimize delays despite disruptions.
In the meantime, please be advised that APM Terminals Elizabeth in NY will open a modified gate process tomorrow, Friday, June 30th, commencing at 6:00AM and process up until 7:00PM. All activity will occur through the main gate off McLester St. only. There will be no Tripoli St. /empty annex access.
APM will process import load deliveries for the following vessels only:
- Maersk Kensington
- Mataquito
- Itea
- Nile Dutch Osprey
- CMA CGM Thames
- Maersk Columbus
- CMA CGM Titus
- Maipo
- MSC Judith
- Maersk Singapore
- Atlantic Cartier
- All Live Reefer Imports
APM will not accept export loads, however, APM will accept empty equipment, bare chassis and bobtails to assist with import delivery processing. Only import loads with US Customs and carrier freight release will be processed. As expected there will be a heavy demand for deliveries, so congestion is to be expected.
