The Books You Donate Go Far!

We humans treasure books, not only for their stored-knowledge value & longevity but because they can be shared multiple times.  Rosendale Library has been the lucky recipient of many thoughtful book & media donations over the years which we put to multiple purposes. Such donations that are not added to the library collection can be sold in the Library's upstairs 'Booktique' or downstairs 'Bookcellar' to benefit Friends of the Rosendale Library.  Sometimes the books are re-donated to other non-profits, such as the following list of several organizations that we donate to, local first followed by international:
·      Elizabeth Belikov – Ulster Co. Correctional Facility – for students
·      John Gunther – Literacy Volunteers of Sullivan Co. Inc.
·      Rosendale Women’s Club – Senior Residences in Ulster Co.
·      Woodcrest Community – Woodcrest school children
·      Goodwill
·      Salvation Army
·      Laura Prince – Children’s Storyhour in S. Africa
·      Lauren Yanks – “Blue Butterfly Foundation” – caring for children in need in Nepal

If you're planning to give a large donation of books &/or media to Rosendale Library & want tax credit, we can supply you w/ our handy tax deductible donation worksheet.  Note the number of items you're donating & then return worksheet when completed.  We'll transfer the worksheet details you supplied to library letterhead stationery, w/ no values assigned, & mail back to you.  Because of our limited space, it would be helpful to check ahead when is the best time to deliver donations.  As always, the Friends of Rosendale Library offers many thanks for your continued generosity.
