No regular KTA trail meeting in July.
Instead, please come to the Moore Park Trails Stakeholder meeting on Thursday, July 13th, from noon to 1 p.m. at the South Portal Building or you can attend the public input session Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m.

Moore Park Trails Stakeholder Meeting & Public Session
Come join us for a special meeting about Moore Park's trails!
Chris Bernhardt of Sentieros Consulting will present results of his trail assessment of Moore Park's trail system. The trails have been evaluated for their environmental sustainability as well as rated for difficulty. Mr. Bernhardt will also discuss a draft plan to improve the trails for all users and reduce maintenance costs
Two stakeholder meetings and one public input session are being planned:
- Wednesday, July 12th, 5:30 pm @ 909 Wild Plum Alley (Drew Honzel's house) - Lynnewood Neighborhood & Friends of Moore Park
- Thursday, July 13th, 12:00 pm @ So. Portal Bldg, 205 Riverside Dr. - KTA, Linkville Lopers, Basin Outdoor Group
- Thursday, July 13th, 5:30 pm @ City Annex, 500 Klamath Ave. - Public Input Session

Sen. Merkley recognizes KTA
At his town hall meeting on June 17, Oregon Sen. Jeff Merkley recognized the Klamath Trails Alliance.
He presented the KTA with an American flag that had flown over Washington, D.C. Sen. Merkley regularly recognizes local organizations during his town hall meetings. Special thanks to Commissioner Kelley Minty Morris connecting Sen. Merkley with the KTA.

EcoSolar and Electric
Klamath Falls is fortunate to have a good base of younger people not only moving here or staying but in some cases starting a business.
One of KTA’s business sponsors, EcoSolar, began forming when Eric and Alison Andrews separately, in their own little corners of the world, wrote high school research reports on the ozone layer depletion. Both have been interested in personal health and the health of the environment from a young age.
Alison worked as a dietitian in hospitals for a decade. Eric has always been an entrepreneur, starting, at age four, trying to sell ladybugs to grade school kids walking home from school. He did “fix and flip” construction work during college.
Alison grew up in Gold Beach, Oregon, and Eric in Lincoln, Nebraska. Alison spent ten years in Portland and Eric spent some time in Leadville, Colorado.
“We eventually came to Klamath to be in a smaller community with plenty of sun," they said.
Both are passionate bike riders. Eric did the Leadville Trail 100 four times—one of the toughest in the U.S. Both are strong riders. They met at a friend’s wedding in Cozumel, Mexico.

They moved to Klamath 10 years ago and started EcoSolar and Electric within the first year. Alison says, “It just seemed like the right match of our passions with the sunny climate in Klamath Falls.”
With a lot of hard work, EcoSolar and Electric is thriving.
The Andrews family enjoys spending time outside and cycling in particular. Both their sons have the riding bug. Samson is loving his new mountain bike and Boden has a new bike with a hand brake modified by Eric (it’s hard to find one for his size). As Eric tells it, “biking is such a great outdoor sport for children of all ages. I’m pleased both our boys are giving it a try.”
