2017 CSGN Forum

How Green Infrastructure is transforming the way we live

Keynote presentation videos: NOW ONLINE

The seventh annual forum of the Central Scotland Green Network drew inspiration from across the globe with leading experts from Milan, Belfast and Copenhagen underlining the need for greenspace, green infrastructure and active travel routes in cities and urban environments.

The event was held at Edinburgh's McIntyre Conference Centre, and included a ministerial speech from Cabinet Secretary for the Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform, Roseanna Cunningham MSP.

Keynote speakers included Vertical Forest architect Francesca Cesa Bianchi, Connswater Community Greensway project manager, Wendy Langham, and Copenhagen-based traffic planner, Niels Jensen. All keynote speechs are available to watch below.

Following the forum, a survey was sent out to all delegates. We would like to thank all those that responded. The results are currently being collated and a full report will be issued soon. In the meantime, you can scroll down to get an  early taste of the responses.

We would aso like to thank our sponsors, Ground Control.

2017 CSGN Forum - Survey Results

We would like to extend our thanks to everyone who took the time to complete the 2017 CSGN Forum survey and provide us with feedback. This information is presently being collated and will help us plan events in the future.

Building on from last years’ successful approach, this event included time for networking and participatory workshop sessions and site tours to visit local projects.

Following positive feedback received informally during the day, we sent out a request to delegates to complete an online survey and have been pleased to see that the results echoed much of what we were told.

Nearly one-third of the delegates participated in the consultation giving us key information on how they felt the day went and its value to them.

Nearly one-third of delegates participated in our survey
As with previous years, the administration and organisation of the event was considered to be extremely effective and delegates were generally positive on the choice of venue although there was some criticism of the lunch time catering.

The content of the day was regarded as being relevant, informative and inspirational. The presentation on Realising the Connswater Community Greenway delivered by Wendy Langham was especially appreciated by delegates.

The pre-lunch workshops and tours were also highly regarded. Most people thought they were well organised, appreciated the opportunity to become more engaged and valued the participatory approach with the freedom to exchange information and ideas within the sessions. Networking tends to be a big feature of the CSGN Forums and this year was no different. Many respondents indicated how important this is for them.

When asked what people would take away from the event, comments centred around; a renewed enthusiasm for their current projects, the opportunity to follow up on new contacts, and greater insight regarding what the CSGN is all about.

CSGNT would like to extend their thanks to everyone who took the time to complete the survey and provide us with feedback. This information is incredibly useful to us as we plan for future events.

We are presently collating the survey results into an overview report and this will be made available on our website in the near future.
