About the Young People's Health Partnership

The Young People’s Health Partnership is a part of the Health and Wellbeing Alliance and represents the interests of young people and young adults aged 10 – 25. We focus specifically on young people facing health inequalities. We are a partnership of six organisations with voluntary and community networks across England from the youth and young people’s health sectors.

Young People and NHS Expo!

In September we attended the 2017 NHS Expo. With over 5,000 delegates attending it was a busy and thought-provoking event and it was good to see sessions dedicated to young people on the agenda. Some of the sessions we attended included; the role of young people in improving health and transforming care, a youth national quality board (including the revised You're Welcome standards), young carers health champions, how young people are making a difference in the NHS and building participation at every level in children and young people's mental health. To get a young person's perspective on the event, read Faye's blog. Faye attended expo with YPHP member Ambition.
Sport and Mental Health Survey

Young People's Health Partnership member StreetGames, along with Mind, Time to Change & the Children & Young People Mental Health Coalition are keen to hear from organisations that work with young people aged 8-25, offering sport or physical activity and with an interest in promoting young people’s mental health and wellbeing. If this is your organisation, they invite you to complete this survey.

All surveys completed by 5pm on 21 October will be entered into a draw to win free Mental Health First Aid training.
Activity Update

We have had a busy quarter, during which we revised and relaunched out Takeover Toolkit, which sets out how you can run takeover activities focusing on health and wellbeing. We held a successful breakfast meeting with policy leads across the health sector and beyond to discuss how we can work together and support them to improve young people's health and wellbeing. We attended the NHS Expo and the Public Health England conference, talking to delegates on the Health and Wellbeing Alliance stand and supporting sessions on youth social action, youth friendly health services, impacts of person-centred care and co-production. We also contributed to consultations to ensure that young people's views are represented and disseminated opportunities, resources and good practice from the Alliance.
